Hair dryer: standards, regulations and installation - Standards and advice for the use of electrical appliances in the bathroom -

Choosing the right hair dryers

Hairdryers are subject to safety standards, which is why all our hairdryers are Class II approved and are designed with double electrical insulation required for installation in a bathroom. These safety standards make it possible to avoid any problem in the event of water splashes or penetrations of solid bodies that could reach the hair dryer motor.

Thus, our hair dryers with a minimum protection index IP21, protection class 2, are designed to be used in volume 3 of the bathroom, defined in relation to the shower or the bathtub. Please note: the notion of volume refers to the position of the person who uses his hair dryer. The gun "containing the motor must not enter volume 2 when the wire is stretched. The sensitive switch on the handle of our devices specially designed for the hotel industry guarantees that the hair dryer only works if it is held in the hand by the user. All sockets and all electrical equipment in the bathroom must be protected by a 30 mA differential device and a socket (220-240V) must be placed in volume 3. HOTEL MEGASTORE also offers several models of hairdryers designed to be used in volume 2 of the bathroom.

This information is given for information only. Under no circumstances can HOTEL MEGASTORE replace a Technical Study Office and the installation of these devices remains the sole responsibility of an electrical professional.
